CoppaFeel!

Hi guys,
Today's post is going to be a bit different.
I want to make more people aware. Aware of the risks of not checking themselves. Aware of how much they should be checking themselves. Aware of how donations can help. Just more aware.
This is why I got in touch with an incredible charity, CoppaFeel.
The charity was set up by and incredible woman called Kris Hallenga in 2009. The same year Kris found out she had breast cancer at age 23.
They go around making more people aware and tell them to go check there baps!

What you should be checking for:
*Different size or shape of your boobs
*The skin texture has changed
*If you are feeling any pain

There is no right or wrong way of checking your boobs. It is simply all about knowing what is normal for your boobs and let's face it, no one knows your boobs as well as you do, right?
You should be checking them at least once a month and it can take less than 5 minutes - 5 minutes out of a whole month! The most important thing is, is that if there are any abnormalities in your boobs to go to your GP straight away. The earlier it is found the better.
CoppaFeel do a free monthly reminder service by texting you when it is time to feel them baps. All you have to do is text 'BOOBS' to 70300 to receive your texts, or go on their website and sign up for them there.
Something that CoppaFeel taught me is that it is not only women that can get breast cancer, men can get it too.
1 in 8 women will experience breast cancer in their lifetime and 400 men will get diagnosed every year.

There are so many ways of drumming up support for CoppaFeel.
You could organise a boob brunch - something CoppaFeel set up where you invite all your friends over, eat some yummy food and have a good ol' natter about your boobs and create more awareness. CoppaFeel will give you recipe idea's of what you can serve at your boob brunch and will also send you a brunch pack! I will definitely be doing my very own boob brunch in the New Year and I cannot wait!!
OR you could raise money by doing your very own boob challenge. This could be anything from a sponsored run to doing a cake sale. It is totally up to you how you do it!

How donations can help:
£2 enables CoppaFeel to send reminder texts to 40 people every month.
£50 enable CoppaFeel to send the Boobettes into schools and peoples place of work to people more aware.
£100 enables more Boobettes to go to music festivals to make around 50,000 more people aware and possibly save lives!

Thank you for reading such an important post.
I will be doing another post in the New Year all about my boob brunch!

Meg x
